Daydreamer

As we stride ever onward, now into a summer that promises to be one like we have never experienced before, we continue to take a moment each day with music. Throughout these next few months, look for some more offbeat choices, many more of your own community selections and comments, and as ever, a little injection of faith, hope, and love into your day.

Got a song you just love? Email musicwppc@gmail.com to tell Jeff about it!

Some of you who follow us regularly have heard songs from John Fullbright before, though it’s been a while - once in service, and once here in the email meditation. This song has been rolling around in my head for a few days, so I thought, maybe I’m meant to share it. I hope it speaks to you today.

Daydreamer, lost in dreams

Sewn all together with the magic seams

Daydreamer, lost in a crowd all alone

Daydreamer, thinks he can fly

Sees white pictures in a big blue sky

Daydreamer, dreaming of a world all his own.

Young men spend a lot of time looking down at the ground

Looking down when they pray

Looking down everyday

Dreamers know that the finer things wait up in the air

But young men are proud

Sometimes dreaming aint allowed

Dream me a better world and I'll find a better way

Dream me a bigger sky and I'll blow the rain away

I'm a young man today

Thats got nothing left to say about tomorrow.

Young men spend a lot of time watching old men make mistakes

But when the young man falls

Well then the old heart breaks

Theres a fire burning deep inside and its as mad as its mean

Its hungry as its lean

And its as fleeting as a dream

Dream me a better world and I'll find a better way

Dream me a bigger sky and I'll blow the rain away

I'm a young man today

Thats got nothing left to say about tomorrow

Listen...

Pray...

Dream me a better world…

We also lift up the following prayers shared during last Sunday's worship service:

  • For the future of the women and girls in Afghanistan.

Even in our separation, God, help us to feel the deep delight of your love for all. Amen.
