About Us
Woodland Park Presbyterian Church seeks to be an open and inclusive family of faith in Christ that embraces the challenge of the Gospel by cultivating deep community, nurturing loving connection within and outside our walls, and living into God's call to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly in the world.
Woodland Park Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is a member of the Seattle Presbytery. We value diverse worship experiences, arts-based worship, and searching for the sacred in the secular.
We are a queer-led church, and we are welcoming AND affirming of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions. We march in the Seattle Pride Parade and participate in our neighborhood's annual "Rainbow Hop," a family-friendly community celebration of queer belonging. We support the Covenant Network and More Light Presbyterians, both of which work toward the complete involvement and equity of LGBTQIA+ people in the Presbyterian Church.
At WPPC, worship is informal, warm, and collegial; a mix of traditional and modern worship styles; filled with music both sacred and secular (you'll hear hymns, but you'll also hear Billy Joel, Paul Simon, or U2). Some of our community members have been attending Presbyterian services their whole lives, while others had never been to church before finding us. We talk about the Bible, and we talk a lot about real life and human problems. We care about social justice, environmental stewardship, and artistic expression. Our progressive community holds a range of beliefs, and we are comfortable with divergent points of view among us. Whoever you are, you are welcome here- and we mean that.
