Milk Run

The subject of the piece is police violence against the black community. I am passionate about the topic due to a strong belief that in the eyes of the law all privilege and lack thereof should be ignored and justice delivered with an even hand. I chose to depict an individual kneeling before the lights of a police vehicle and leaving much of the background in darkness in order to emphasize the isolation experienced in these moments. The lack of other human figures in the scene emphasizes the systemic nature of the problem by allowing us to focus only on the victim and the mechanisms of their oppression.
