Occupation: Author and Activist

Ms. Boggs was known as a philosopher, social activist, author, and mentor. Her words called out the root causes of systemic brokenness, calling each of us to participate in radical deconstruction of systems that foster injustice so that true democracy can see the light.

Grace Lee Boggs was married to James Boggs until his death in 1993. After the death of her husband Jimmy, Grace opened her home in Detroit to young activists cultivating a place for collaboration.
