As we stride ever onward, now into a summer that promises to be one like we have never experienced before, we continue to take a moment each day with music. Throughout these next few months, look for some more offbeat choices, many more of your own community selections and comments, and as ever, a little injection of faith, hope, and love into your day.

In 2012, after several years apart working on other projects, The Wallflowers reunited for a new album, Glad All Over. Front man Jakob Dylan shares his father’s (yes, THAT Dylan) penchant for sophisticated, literary lyrics paired with straight-ahead rock ‘n roll music. This song begs for compassion and justice in such a simple, yet profound way, both acknowledging a crooked present and envisioning a better future. May it be another reminder of our calling in our city and around the world. Have some faith pass it down Let him know the way back is easily found When he's ready he'll come around Shine a light and show him how He needs it more than ever right about now And at least one foot on the ground There's no way of knowing how much one heart can hold How long it’ll last in the wilderness out on his own Stop letting him down Have mercy on him now It's not that easy it's bittersweet Having to watch him out there finding his feet Seeing him cut his own teeth Keep it simple keep it straight All the pitches right up and over the plate And even give him a break Shadow people all eyes and all smoke Changing their bodies out like they were coats Don't know why but you won't Have mercy on him now You're not giving that much hope Hardly even a little bit of rope And doing it just when it matters the most Even a dog knows a stumble from a kick His own reflection in the water he drinks He's not fooled if that's what you think Anyway, anyhow have mercy on him now

Pray...
Holy One, Remind me to see you in everyone.
We also lift up the following prayers shared during last Sunday's worship service:
For Jeff’s great uncle Dick, who is now in hospice.
Even in our separation, God, help us to feel the deep delight of your love for all. Amen.
